Cemetery cleanup
The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will be celebrating Cemetery Awareness/Restoration Day on Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Harrisville. This cemetery is located opposite the Harrisville Fire Station on Callahan School Street and is Cemetery #26. The public is invited to join by helping to clean the cemetery. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, brush loppers or leaf blowers to help, as well as wheelbarrows or carts to carry away debris.
Those who love old cemeteries or are just curious are invited to stop by to see the work and join us in efforts to maintain the town’s abandoned cemeteries.
