NORTH SMITHFIELD – A city man is facing charges of vandalism and disorderly conduct after a  road rage incident in which he allegedly stopped his car in the middle of a busy roadway and ripped the mirror off of a victim’s vehicle.

Roger Delorme, 39, of Woonsocket was arrested on Tuesday, March 8 after the victim showed police video from the encounter.

According to Delorme’s arrest report, police were called to the area of Park Square just before 5 p.m. The victim, a 28-year-old from Burrillville, said that Delorme slammed on his brakes in the middle of 146A and got out of his car. Delorme reportedly began yelling at the driver, spit on the other vehicle and broke a mirror off of the car.

Delorme told police he saw the victim swerving in and out of traffic on Route 146 North and that he became angry after the victim slowed down in front of him, but denied breaking the mirror.

Delorme was issued a Third District court summons and has a mandatory hearing scheduled for July 15.
