PAWTUCKET – A dance major from North Smithfield has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2021 at the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
Rebecca DeVivo, of North Smithfield, graduates with the second-highest GPA among seniors at the public school, at 3.873.
The Pawtucket school announced the news this week, naming Jillian Nash, of Pawtucket as valedictorian.
DeVivo, daughter of Ralph and Sharon DeVivo reportedly attended North Smithfield public schools, including a semester at the high school, before transferring to the small arts-focused facility.
A member of the National Society of High School Scholars and dance major, DeVivo was also involved in musical theatre and took singing lessons.
She has served as a volunteer for the Brae Crest School of Ballet’s summer camp.
DeVivo will be attending Rhode Island College with a full scholarship
One of three high schools in Pawtucket, Jacqueline Walsh offers programs in dance, music, theater and visual arts to students in 9th through 12th grade with a total enrollment of around 200 students.
