NORTH SMITHFIELD – Police are reporting that there were no serious injuries in an accident at the intersection of North Main Street and Route 102 Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses to the incident say an antique car hit a bicyclist around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2.
The busy intersection has seen fatal accidents in the past, including one in which a 13-year-old riding a bike, Scott Wright, was struck and killed in 2010. A white “ghost bicycle,” still marks the scene of the fatal accident beside Slatersville Plaza.
Capt. Stephen Riccitelli said police are still investigating the cause of Wednesday’s accident, but no one was seriously injured.
