Mapleville Troop 102 announced the winners from a raffle held last weekend. Raffle winners of the various baskets were Brian and Donna Pratt, Kathy Bastia and Courtney Radcliffe, and Jeannie Miranda won the 50/50 raffle.

Pascoag Library announces summer schedule

Pascoag Public Library has announced events and programs taking place this summer including special visits and programs over the next few months.

On Thursday, June 24 the Rhode Island State Police K-9 unit will visit the library starting at at 11 a.m.

Thursday, July 15, it’s “Llamas at the Library, also at 11 a.m. and the following day, Friday, July 16, the library will host a Hula Hoop Party starting at 11 a.m.

Thursday, August 5 the library will host Disability Awareness with Athena the Service Dog starting at 11 a.m.

The library will also offer grab and go crafts all summer long weekly starting on Mondays on a first come first serve basis.

‘Revisited’ slideshow

On Sunday, June 20 guests are invited to attend a slideshow about the new Burrillville history picture book titled “Burrillville Revisited” written by Betty Mencucci on behalf of the Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society and published by Arcadia Publishing.

The event will be held at the Assembly Theater in Harrisville starting at 3 pm. The slideshow will give an overview of the contents of the book and other interesting historical information. It will also give you a chance to meet the author and ask questions. The event is free, and after the slideshow, there will be a book signing and books will available for pickup or purchase.

Food trucks to make Father’s Day return to Burrillville

After the book signing, stick around as PVD Food Trucks makes a return for the season to The Assembly Theatre on Sunday, June 20 for a Father’s Day event featuring music by Paul Juneau. The Assembly of Food Trucks will take place on the grounds of the theater at 26 East Ave. in Harrisville starting at 5 p.m.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, June 14 starting at 6:30 p.m. The agenda and link to attend are here.

The Pascoag Fire District will hold a meeting on Monday, June 14 starting at 7 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. The agenda and instructions to attend virtually can be found here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold a meeting on Monday, June 14 starting at 7 p.m. at 46 Oakland School St. for an agenda that includes a discussion of complaints from neighbors regarding noise, found here.

The Harrisville Fire District will hold its annual meeting on Monday, June 14 starting at 8 p.m. at 201 Callahan School St. The agenda can be found here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will also hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 15 starting at 7 p.m. at the fire station for ongoing discussion of the merger with the Nasonville Fire District. The agenda can be found here.

The Burrillville Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 15 starting at 7 p.m. An agenda and link to attend via Zoom are here.
