Northern RI – Rain on Monday, Oct. 25 is just a preview of a large storm headed toward New England, with wind and flood warnings issued through Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm will bring 3 to 6 inches of rain along with damaging winds, with a high wind watch is in effect beginning Tuesday morning. Rainfall is expected to exceed one inch per hour at times.
A hazardous weather warning and flood watch has also been issued for portions of eastern, northeastern and southeastern Massachusetts, and northern and southern Rhode Island, with a list of specific towns to be affected including Glocester.
The peak of the wind will be Tuesday night with Northeast winds of 25 to 35 miles-per-hour with gusts of up to 55 miles-per-hour possible.
“The Tuesday evening commute may be particularly impacted,” warns NWS.
The storm is expected to roll out around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon but power outages are possible, and residents are advised to prepare appropriately.
