Rock painting party

Join the Burrillville Rocks group for a rock painting party on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Uno s in Greenville. Paint a homemade gift while kids eat free with an adult entree purchase at the restaurant at 371 Putnam Pike in Smithfield.

Flag sale/Toys for Tots collection

Berard Desjarlais American Legion Post 88 will hold a Toys for Tots collection drive and flag sale on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Binns building at 111 Chapel St. in Harrisville. There will be a raffle for a Hess Truck, and a professional photographer offering one photo free with donation of a new unwrapped toy and photo packages available at competitive prices. The post will also be collecting new clothes and toiletries for the Knights of Columbus drive for the Rhode Island Veterans Home; IGA receipts; worn flags and canned goods.

Stick around after the drive for kickoff of the Army/Navy football game at 3 p.m., with snack and hot weiners at half time.

Holiday events

  • Santa at Johnny’s

Santa will visit Johnny’s Victory Diner for pictures on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids get a holiday sugar cookie and adults can pick up local products including etched beer mugs, t-shirts, spiced rub, sweatshirts and gift certificates at the diner at 2731 Victory Highway.

  • Music at the Farm

Grace Note Farm and the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council will present Music at the Farm, Holiday Time Again on Sunday, Dec. 12 starting at 2 p.m. with selections from Traviata and traditional Christmas favorites. Performers include soprano Carina DiGlanfilippo, tenor David Rivera Bozon, and pianist Leona Cheung. Tickets cost $30. For reservations call (401) 567-0354.
