BURRILLVILLE – Christmas week is always one of the busiest travel times of the year as families head out to holiday visits and overnight stays. Kids are climbing into vehicles to travel on our roadways to enjoy Christmas dinners with family members and friends at homes across the state. This time of year is great for festive gatherings and spending time with family and friends.
It’s also a great time to reflect upon and remember traffic safety, especially when it comes to child passenger safety when traveling to attend holiday gatherings.
This week’s Sunday Cartoon is a wonderful way to remember that it is very important to boost up and buckle up the kids. The back seat is the safest place for kids in the family vehicle. The weather is becoming colder, and road conditions might not be very great this time of year. Being extra careful about properly restraining kids is crucial to keeping them safer on any road trips, no matter how far you plan on traveling.
Printing out this week’s Buckleupallofus Christmas Cruisin Safety Coloring Cartoon not only reminds everyone to buckle up in the family vehicle, it also encourages kids to wear their seatbelts. And how often do any of us get to see Santa Claus cruisin house-to-house delivering toys and gifts to all of those well-behaved children in a classic convertible Hot Rod Coupe?
If any police officers, firefighters, first responders, school teachers, school nurses, pediatric doctors offices, urgent care facilities, family clinics, librarians, daycare staff or hospital ER’s want to help convey the importance of keeping kids properly restrained in the family vehicle during this very busy travel Christmas week, then printing this coloring cartoon and passing it out to kids could be a great way to make sure that they are safe while traveling to their destinations.
Grab some crayons and colored markers and have some fun coloring with the kids, while reminding them to be safer while traveling on our busy roadways during Christmas week. Have a happy and safe Christmas from all of us!
