Join members of the Burrillville Land Trust and many other participating nonprofits on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. for Becoming One People: Whose Story: Identity, Assimilation & Community, a virtual story and discussion with speakers including Dr. Michael Fine.

Blood drive update

All scheduled appointment slots for the St. Patrick’s Church blood drive to be held on Thursday, Jan. 27 have now been filled. Some walk in donations may be accepted and those who would like to donate should contact the Rhode Island Blood Center at (800) 283-8385 to check availability, or find an alternative place to donate here.

Use sponsor code 0675 when donating to credit your donation to the local Knights of Columbus 383, who is sponsoring the Burrillville-based drive.

Town announcements

The town of Burrillville still has free at-home COVID-19 rapid test kits available and has announced that additional distribution events will be held this week at Jesse Smith Memorial Library. Walk up distribution will take place on Thursday, Jan. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. A limited number of rapid test kits are also available at municipal buildings, the Pascoag Public Library, and fire stations in Harrisville, Pascoag and Oakland/Mapleville. A state-run vaccination clinic will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5 in the gymnasium of Burrillville Middle School, which is free and open to the general public with registration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both Moderna and Pfizer booster shots will be available. The town is still accepting public input on potential uses of American Rescue Plan Act funding. Residents are invited to fill out a survey form on the town website here. Paint night

Listen to Your Art has scheduled another paint night to be held at Bravo Brewing Company in Pascoag on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 7-9 p.m. Participation costs $40 with only 20 spots available. Register at www.listentoyourart.net.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 25 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith library. Participation will also be offered remotely with a link and agenda found here.

The Burrillville Charter Review Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 25 starting at 7 p.m. at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda and link to participate via Zoom are here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 26 starting at 7 p.m. at 105 Harrisville Main St. An agenda and link to participate are here.

The operating committee of the Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold a monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 26 starting at 7 p.m. at 46 Oakland School St. An agenda and link to attend via Zoom are here.

The Burrillville Budget Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 27 starting at 6:30 p.m. Members of the public can participate via Zoom with an agenda and link found here.
