Mattress fundraiser

The Burrillville High School Class of 2022 will hold a mattress fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school on East Avenue. The sale will offer quality name brands like Simmons, Beautyrest and Therapedic for up to 50 percent off retail prices with same-as-cash financing, delivery, and savings on mattresses, pillows, sheets, adjustable bases, and protectors. Profits from the one day sale will go directly to the Class of 2022 for their Senior Trip.

Snack Pack help

The Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program is in need of donations of non-perishable food items. The program provides Burrillville students in need with food to keep them fed over the weekends.

Fire hydrants

If you haven’t already, the Burrillville Police Department is reminding resident to help out local fire departments by making sure fire hydrants are cleared of snow. All fire hydrants should have a three foot perimeter as wells as a clear path to the street.

Kindergarten registration

The Burrillville School District has announced that registration for students entering kindergarten in September 2022 will be held on Wednesday, March 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, March 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Austin T. Levy Elementary School. Parents and guardians must bring the child, along with all required documentation. Child Outreach Screenings will be offered on registration days or in advance by calling (401) 647-7560. Children must turn five by September 1 to register.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a joint meeting with the Burrillville School Committee on Monday, Jan. 31 starting at 6 p.m. in the safety complex at 1477 Victory Highway. Members of the public can participate via Zoom with the agenda and link found here.

The Pascoag Fire District will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 1 starting at 6 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. Members of the public can participate in person or via Zoom with the agenda and instructions found here.

The Burrillville Budget Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 3 starting at 6:30 p.m. Members of the public may participate via Zoom with the agenda and link found here.
