Volunteers needed

The Glocester Historical Cemeteries Committee is seeking volunteers to help with the effort of perpetual care for all 130 of the town’s final resting places. Memorial Park improvements

The town of Glocester is requesting bids for improvements to Glocester Memorial Park. The work in the contract includes site improvements to the town’s largest recreational facility, located on Adelaide Way. Proposed improvements include grading and site work, a new basketball court, and a pedestrian pathway connecting the park to Putnam Pike, including signage. Responses will be accepted until 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.

Piano at The George

Maddox Realejo, a 2019 Ponaganset High School graduate and piano performance major is now playing every Wednesday night – and some Saturdays – at The George on Washington in downtown Providence. Support the PHS alumni and enjoy an intimate piano bar, food and drink.

GBA Scholarship

The Glocester Business Association is reminding seniors at Ponaganset High School that two $500 scholarships will be given out this year. Graduating seniors from PHS who will be attending an accredited junior college, college, university or technical school in September 2022 are eligible.

Applications are available here and the deadline to apply is Sunday, April 30.

Town meetings

The workshop originally scheduled for Monday, Feb. 28 by the Glocester Planning Board was cancelled and the board’s next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, March 14.

The Foster/Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 1 starting at 7 p.m. in the Ponaganset High School Library. The agenda and a link to attend via Zoom can be found here.

The Glocester Economic Development Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 1 starting at 7 p.m. at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda can be found here.
