The Strumdawgs will play at Uncle Ronnie's Tavern Friday night.

Northern, RI – If you find yourself asking, “What can I do this weekend without having to fill my gas tank?” then you’ve come to the right place.

Welcome to The Weekend, northern Rhode Island, where we round up the events happening right here in our communities of Burrillville, North Smithfield and Glocester, from live entertainment and fundraisers, to vendor fairs and art classes.

This week, The Island in North Smithfield kicks off its summer Friday night music series with Amber Rose and the Renegades. Have breakfast for a good cause Saturday and Sunday mornings, when Boy Scout Troops in Glocester and North Smithfield hold their respective annual breakfast fundraisers. Get outside with local heritage associations for tours and demonstrations on Saturday, or check out live music at a local venue every night for the next four days.

However you spend your free time, we hope you enjoy it, and consider checking out some of these great local businesses, events and organizations.
