Thai Royal closes

Thai Royal in Pascoag shuttered its doors for good this week, with the restaurant serving its final meals on Saturday, May 21.

“We are deeply and truly thank you our amazing and loving customers to embrace us as a part of the Burriville’s community for Thai food and drinks,” noted the business on Facebook.

Informational meeting

The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to help expand senior services in town through their partnership with the Village Common of Rhode Island. Roles that need to be filled include Steering Committee members, membership ambassador, volunteer coordinator, events planner and more. Author discusses New England Mafia

On Thursday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. join former East Providence police officer turned author Joe Broadmeadow as he discusses his books about the mafia in New England at Jesse Smith Memorial Library. Brendan Doherty, former Rhode Island State Police superintendent and co-author of “It’s Just the Way It Was…” will also be in attendance.

Memorial Day

The Burrillville Allied Veterans Council including American Legion Posts 88 and 17 and VFW Post 1023 will hold a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30 starting at 11 a.m. at Freedom Park in Harrisville. The event will include the Allied Veterans Honor Guard, and the Burrillville High School band and select chorus.

The Burrillville Sewer Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Wastewater Treatment Facility at 141 Clear River Drive. The agenda can be found here.
