Independence Day festivities to include 96th parade & road race, June 25 fireworks

    The town of Glocester will hold its 96th annual Ancients & Horribles parade on Monday, July 4 in Chepachet starting at 4 p.m. Locals are invited to show off their artistic talents with crazy outfits and outlandish floats with certificates to be awarded for most ancient and horrible, most patriotic and best walking group. Participants can register here.

    Parade vendors are also welcome and are asked to apply in person by using the Parade Vendor Application Form and delivering it to the Glocester Town Clerk’s Office at 1145 Putnam Pike.

    Other festivities related to Glocester’s 4th of July celebration will include live music and fireworks on Saturday, June 25 with an event starting at 5 p.m. at Glocester Memorial Park. The rain date for the event is Saturday, July 9.

    The Glocester Road Race will also take place on July 4, with registration starting at 8 a.m. Participants can register in advance here.
