Juneteenth
The federal holiday of Juneteeth is being observed on Monday, June 20. Banks, federal offices and the post office are closed today, but town offices are open and trash collection will take place as scheduled.
BTDC meeting
The deadline for declaring candidacy for political office in Rhode Island is Wednesday, June 29. Anyone thinking of running for office and that may have questions is invited to an informational meeting to be held by the Burrillville Town Democratic Committee on Wednesday, June 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pascoag Public Library. The committee welcomes attendance from anyone interested in learning more about the process, as well as those who want to know more about the BTDC.
Safe sitter class
A safe sitter class open to students in grades 6-8 will take place at the Burrillville Middle School on Thursday, June 23 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students will learn child care essentials including injury prevention, infant and child CPR and behavior management.

Pickleball
Free open court pickleball sponsored by Burrillville Parks and Recreation will take place at Remington Park in Oakland on Wednesdays through the summer starting at 5:30 p.m. Participants of all levels and ages are welcome and must sign up by Thursday, June 30.

The Burrillville Conservation Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 21 starting at 7 p.m. at the American Legion building at 103 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
