Summer meals

Burrillville’s free summer meals program for teens and kids began today, Tuesday, July 5, and will continue on weekdays through August. Meals will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jesse Smith Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. All meals must be consumed on site.

A schedule of meals to be served to all local kids who want them is published below.

Trash delay

Residents are reminded that Monday, July 4 was a trash holiday and pickup will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works Refuse & Recycling division at (401) 568-4440 ext. 12.

Riverwalk concerts begin Saturday

The 2022 Riverwalk Times Concert series kicks off on Saturday, July 9 with a free concert by Brass Attack at the Stillwater Mill pavilion in front of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. Residents are invited to bring lawn chairs and dancing shoes to enjoy live entertainment starting at 6 p.m. every Saturday through August 20.

New this year, food trucks have also joined the line up, with Four Smoking Guys BBQ to serve as this week’s vendor.

Concerts are moved inside the library in the case of inclement weather.

Green festival vendors

The Pascoag Utility District is seeking local vendors for the 14th Annual Green Festival.

Does your business specialize in energy conservation/efficiency, renewable energy, weatherization, recycling, the environment, health/wellness or sustainable living products? The Green Festival is an opportunity to showcase what your business has to offer. PUD is especially interested in finding local mini-split/heat pump installers, and insulation companies.

Space is limited and those interested are asked to contact Desarae Dolan at [email protected].

Town meetings

There will be no government board meetings held in Burrillville this week following the extended holiday weekend. Residents are advised to enjoy some time off, with the schedule for several town boards set to resume next week.
