Gaga ball

Pack 7 Slatersville Cub Scouts will host a game of Gaga ball on Wednesday, July 27, one of several events the scouts organized this summer, open to all children entering grades K-5 and their families.

The group will play Gaga ball behind Scouters Hall at 13 Main St. starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by an ice cream social in the hall.

Library fundraiser

The North Smithfield Public Library, in conjunction with Texas Roadhouse, will hold a fundraiser at the restaurant Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28 from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. When diners bring in a copy of the library’s fundraising flyer, Texas Roadhouse will donate 10 percent of the total purchase.

Black Plain Road

The North Smithfield Summer Concert Series continues this week with a free show by Black Plain Road on Thursday, July 28 Concerts take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Town Hall gazebo at 83 Greene St. on Thursday nights through August. Food trucks are also scheduled to be available on site and guests are instructed to park in the Town Hall lot.

Raffle contest

The Saint Antoine Community is holding a ‘high stakes’ raffle contest to raise funds for the purchase of a new commercial ADA wheelchair accessible bus. Tickets are $20 each for a chance to win a grand prize of $1,000, a second place prize of $500, a third or fourth place prize of $250.

To purchase a ticket, stop by the reception desk at the facility at 10 Rhodes Ave. or email Melissa Smith [email protected] for more information. The drawing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Town meetings

The North Smithfield Personnel Board will hold a meeting on Monday, July 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the North Smithfield Police Station at 575 Smithfield Road. The agenda can be found here.
