Blood drive

Wright’s Farm Restaurant will host a drive to benefit the Rhode Island Blood Center on Friday, July 29 in the business parking lot from 1-8 p.m. All presenting donors will receive a $20 Wright’s Farm chicken dinner voucher, excluding alcohol.

Town announcements

The town of Burrillville is looking to hire for a position of driver/laborer/operator to operate and service a variety of motor equipment. View the full ad from the town here.

The town has also announced that due to a glitch with the mailing of tax bills, the due date for first quarter payments has been extended to Monday, August 15. Residents who have not received a bill by Friday, July 29 should contact the Tax Assessor’s office at (401) 568-4300 ext. 181. View the complete announcement on the tax bills here.

Block party

The Downtown Pascoag Neighborhood Association will host a Block Party on Saturday, July 30 from 4 to 8 p.m., with vendors, food trucks live music and more. The free event will take place on the Pascoag Bridgeway.

Heart & Soles

On behalf of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation residents Nelia LeClair and Linda Colburn are fundraising to carry a torch in the Illuminations of Life Ceremony, at the Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life event to be held on Saturday, October 1.

A fundraising dinner will be held on Saturday, July 30 at Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club starting at 4 p.m. with live music by Down To Earth & Jacob Gervais, a cash bar and raffles. Tickets cost $35 per adult, $60 per couple, $10 for kids age 6 to 12 and free kids under age 6, and can be purchased here.

Town meetings

The Pascoag Utility District Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, July 25 starting at 2 p.m. at the district office at 253 Pascoag Main St. The agenda can be found here.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, July 26 starting at 7 p.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library community room. The agenda can be found here.

The Nasonville Fire District will hold a budget workshop on Tuesday, July 26 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 2577 Victory Highway. The agenda is here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold a monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 27 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 46 Oakland School St. The agenda is here.
