NORTH SMITHFIELD – The Village Haven held a grand reopening this week under new management and released a menu featuring all of the favorites diners have come to love in the restaurant’s 45 year history, alongside some new offerings.
Longtime owner Rachel Narodowy announced her retirement in June, and Gianfranco & Sandra Campanella, owners of the neighboring Lucky Dog Tavern, have purchased the business at 90 School St. The restaurant closed for renovations soon after the announcement, and held a grand reopening on Thursday, August 25.
And yes, the cinnamon rolls are still on the menu.
Prices have not changed, and a menu released on Thursday includes family-style chicken, pot roast and prime rib – just as before. The Campanellas now plan to run both School Street restaurants and Gary Narodowy, who has managed The Village Haven for years, has joined the Campanellas’ team.
This week, the owners noted that a new website for The Village Haven is also in the works.
“Chef Gian has put his expertise on this menu so you will enjoy new appetizers, entrees and house-made desserts,” the business noted. “You will see many familiar faces with a blend of Lucky Dog Staff and Village Haven staff.”
No changes are expected at The Lucky Dog, a restaurant opened in 2019 in the building that once held Lindy’s Tavern at 82 School St. The business serves a slightly more modern cuisine featuring cheese boards, gourmet sandwiches and Mediterranean-style dishes.
The hours at The Village Haven have also remained the same, with dinner served Thursday through Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday starting at noon. Reservations are accepted for all parties and are recommended for groups with five or more guests by calling (401) 762-4242 after 1 p.m.
Those who who like to see the new menu and keep up with the latest announcements can follow the business on Facebook here.
