NORTH SMITHFIELD – A grocery store in North Smithfield that has undergone renovations over the past few months has now completed its remodel, and plans to celebrate this weekend.
Stop & Shop at 595 Smithfield Road held a ribbon cutting for the remodel on Friday, Sept. 23, noting that the store updates are, “centered around delivering fresh, healthy, and convenient options that make grocery shopping easier for local customers.”
New features include a hot flatbread pizza section, fresh sushi made in-store daily, and updated produce, meat, and bakery departments, according to a release from the store.
The grocer leases the 61,428-square-foot retail building, constructed in 1991, on a 6.4 acre lot assessed at $5.3 million.
In honor of the grand reopening weekend, guests that visit the store between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 24, and Sunday, Sept. 25, can enjoy a variety of giveaways and product sampling.
“We’re excited to offer an even bigger selection of fresh produce, bakery items and ready to eat flatbread pizza and sushi options, all with great values for our customers,” said Steven Turchetta, store manager of the North Smithfield Stop & Shop. “In honor of our grand reopening, we’re also excited to treat our customers.”
