Town notices

The town of Burrillville has published two notices for residents this week.

The first lets residents age 55 and older know that Burrillville Aging Stronger has scheduled its next Lunch & Learn event at Wright’s Farm Restaurant to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Attendees receive a free chicken dinner, along with information from vendors focused on helping the town’s older population. Transportation is available and a reservation is required by calling (401) 568-4300 ext. 145 or emailing [email protected] by Wednesday, Oct. 12. View the complete notice here.

Registration open for BPAC 5K

Registration is now open for the Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition’s annual 5K walk/run through Burrillville, to be held Sunday, Nov. 6. Haunted Gallows opening night

A new attraction in Burrillville offering guests a “haunted” walk along a trail through the woods at Richardson’s Sawmil at 505 East Ironstone Road will open this Friday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. Following opening night, the attraction will be open every Friday and Saturday through October.

Pumpkin painting

A free event featuring pumpkin painting, spooky music, hot chocolate and treats for children ages 6-12 will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 3-4 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion at 100 Tinkham Lane in Harrisville. The event, sponsored by Daniele Killen RE/MAX Host of Homes and Jason Rose of Homespire Mortgage has limited seats available and participants must register here.

Town meetings

The Burrillville School Committee’s new Field Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27 in the media center at Burrillville High School starting at 2:30 p.m. The agenda can be found here.

The Pascoag Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27 starting at 6 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. The agenda is here.

The Oakland Mapleville Fire District will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Oakland School St for organization of the board. The agenda is here. That meeting will be followed by a monthly meeting for an agenda found here.

The Burrillville Planning Board and the Burrillville Town Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 28 starting at 7 p.m. in the Town Council chambers at 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
