Beginner Skeet at Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club is open to the public every Friday night.

Northern, RI – Autumn is now in full swing with new seasonal openings, festivals and fairs nearly every weekend until the colder weather takes hold later this year.

Welcome to The Weekend, northern Rhode Island, our weekly roundup of all the fun you can find in our small towns, from live music and car shows, to fundraisers and special celebrations.

Some 4,000 people have purchased tickets to one special fall event just outside our coverage area: the Bewitched and Bedazzled Festival in Lincoln. Many of our local vendors will also be there but sadly, tickets have all sold out. And the annual Dinner Under the Stars in North Smithfield, to be held this year on the grounds of Beef Barn Restaurant, has been postponed to next Saturday due to expected storms.

But there are plenty of other things happening over the next three days even closer to home.

Harmony Products opens this weekend, with train rides in Glocester and a shop to be open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Burrillville’s new attraction, Haunted Gallows, also opens Friday night with hours every weekend through October.

For outdoor enthusiasts, hunting season has begun. If hiking is more your style, remember to wear fluorescent orange in all State Management Areas and undeveloped State Parks.

The Shrine of the Little Flower in Burrillville will host The Feast of St. Therese Saturday, or if you’re looking to get out of town, join the North Smithfield Heritage Association on a field trip to celebrate Sassamineash Cranberry Thanksgiving in Exeter.

However you spend your time, as always, we hope it’s marvelous – and that you let them know NRI NOW sent you.
