NORTH SMITHFIELD – North Smithfield Town Councilman Stephen Corriveau thanked residents this week for their support during his first term on the Town Council, citing his ongoing work on the board in seeking reelection this November.
“It has been an honor to serve the town of North Smithfield as your councilman since 2020,” Corriveau said. “These last few years have been quite challenging to say the least.”
“Being new to politics, I tried to earn your trust by moving North Smithfield forward in a positive way; promote and grow businesses; stand up for the rights of the town residents and their children; help our veterans and seniors; and create a sense of community at the Halliwell property once again,” Corriveau said. “In less than 18 months, I voted to approve an increase in the economic development budget from $500 to $50,000; supported the veterans tax exemption; advocated for a senior center; added two additional EMTs; spearheaded the Halliwell Review Committee as council liaison, and stood my ground on residents’ rights.”
“I ask for your support during early voting and Election Day, November 8th,” Corriveau said.
