Buddy Poppy fundraiser
VFW Post 6342 will hold a Buddy Poppy fundraiser at Slatersville Plaza in front on Brigido’s Market on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Locals are invited to stop by and pick up a Buddy Poppy, made by a disabled veteran, and leave a donation.
NSHA calendars
You can now purchase North Smithfield Heritage Association 2023 Calendars for $10 at four local retail stores: Leeway Ace Hardware at 790 Great Road; Li’l General Convenience Store at 659 Great Road; Village Paint & Decorating at 900 Victory Highway; and Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery at 200 Woonsocket Hill Road.
Calendars are also available at the Memorial Town Building at 1 Main St., the Forestdale School at 190 School St. and at the NSHA online store at nsheritageassn.org.
The organization offers free local delivery and proceeds from calendar sales will help fund their heritage preservation activities.

Ski Club registration
Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 North Smithfield Student Ski and Snowboard Program at Wachusett Mountain. The six-week program begins Friday, Jan. 6 and is open to students in 6th through 12th grade. More information and registration instructions can be found here
The North Smithfield Food Pantry has announced that pickup dates will begin this week with openings on Saturdays, August 20 and 27 at 10 a.m. and Tuesdays, August 23 and 30 at 5:30 p.m.
The Food Pantry is for North Smithfield residents who must have a photo ID and a bill that confirms their address. Guests can attend the pantry all four times it is open per month at the Slatersville Congregational Church UCC on the Common.
For the month of August, the pantry is seeking donations of toothpaste, shampoo and tissues.
