Conversations with Veterans

Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host Conversations with Veterans: A Program for Kids and Families on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 2 – 3 p.m.

With Veterans Day approaching, families are invited to take advantage of this opportunity for children to form connections with the service men and women. Hear about the experiences of local veterans from the Berard-Desjarlais American Legion Post 88 led by current Commander Raymond Trinque. Kids are encouraged to ask questions in this informal setting. Families are welcome to bring photos of veterans that they know to share their personal connections to those who serve our country. Blank cards, patriotic stickers, and markers will be available for children to create thank you cards to give to local veterans. Light refreshments will be served.

The program will be held in the Community Room on the 1st floor of the library and on the Riverwalk. Registration is encouraged. For more information, visit the Children’s Department or call (401) 710-7800.
