Blood drive & meetings live streaming: Five things to know in Glocester this week

The Glocester Police Department recently updated their sign board to show our support for Glocester resident Noah Daigle and his family. Daigle was diagnosed with Neuroplastoma and had his third relapse in December.

Meeting video

A new YouTube channel is now offering video of Glocester Town Council meetings. Meetings are live streamed here and remain available for viewing once complete. Town Council meetings are generally held on the first and third Thursday of every month.

Blood drive

The Glocester Police Department has scheduled a blood drive to be held at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. in conference room #6. All donors will be entered into a weekly drawing to win a gift card or an Apple or Google watch.

To register, visit ribc.org/drives using sponsor code 5089. Walk-in donations will be accepted if availability permits at time of arrival.

Ice skating

The Glocester Recreation Department has announced that the community ice skating rink at Glocester Memorial Park at 52 Adelaide Road is set to open soon. Once open, the rink will be open to the public from dusk to dawn daily as weather permits.

Broom making

Dragonfly Apothecary at 15 Money Hill Road will host a broom-making workshop on Friday, Jan. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Brooms by Jenza. The cost for the class is $50 per person and space is limited. Tickets can be purchased here.

Town meetings

The Glocester Board of Contracts & Purchases will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 starting at 1:15 p.m. at Glocester Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Housing Authority will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room at Laurel Crest at 64 Chestnut Hill Road. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Land Trust will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at Glocester Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
