Sea Glass Snowflakes

North Smithfield Public Library will host a crafting program on Tuesday, Jan. 24 starting at 5:30 p.m. Participants ages 10-16 are invited to sign up and make a beautiful and unique piece of art made with sea glass. To register visit https://nspl.evanced.info/signup

Stop the Bleed

A “Stop the Bleed” program will take place at Town Hall at 83 Green St. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 starting at 6 p.m. The program is designed to help members of the public to become potential life savers at the scene of any serious bleeding incident. The program will be taught by RI Disaster Medical Assistance Team Medical Reserve Corps Emergency Medical Services instructors and will run until around 7:30 p.m. Each participant will receive a CAT-1 military style tourniquet and a “Stop the Bleed” certificate upon completion.

The program is free to North Smithfield residents and pre-registration in required by calling Richard Savaria at (401) 527-8959.

Little League

Registration for North Smithfield Little League’s spring season opened on Saturday, Jan. 21 and will run through March 8. Divisions are open to kids from age 4 to 16, with tryouts for the older players to be held in March. To learn more and register visit www.northsmithfieldll.com.

Heritage night

The North Smithfield Heritage Association will host a Heritage Night on Friday, Jan. 27 starting at 7 p.m. at Heritage Hall on Green Street. Alexa Wallace, historian, scholar, and public school teacher, will discuss her research about women in agriculture. Wallace has more than ten years of museum experience and during her graduate work, she researched gender and sexuality in the 19th-century United States.

The North Smithfield Water Supply Review Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24 starting at 6 p.m. at Town Hall at 83 Green St. The agenda is here.
