
Pickleball
Open Court Pickleball begins at Remington Park in Oakland this Wednesday, June 14, at 5:30 p.m., and will continue on Wednesdays through the summer. The free weekly league is open to all ages and skill levels, and participants are advised to bring a chair and their own racquet if they have one. Ice Cream Social
On Thursday, June 15, the Burrillville Land Trust will host the One Room Schoolhouse and Ice Cream Social from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at 310 Eagle Peak Road. Join volunteers from the Burrillville Land Trust and Rhode Island Lego Artist Andrew Grover as they unveil the Legos version of the One Room Schoolhouse. Ice cream truck Mumsies will provide ice cream with dairy and vegan options, compliments of the Burrillville Land Trust.
The One Room Schoolhouse Lego project is funded in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and funds from the land trust. Tours of the grounds and the life-size stone schoolhouse will be available. Learn how a conservation easement program saved the building and land from being demolished.

The event is free and open to the public.
PACT Act meeting
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting a PACT Act Town Hall meeting on Thursday, June 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bravo Brewing Company. Representatives from the State of Rhode Island Veterans Services, the VA Providence Healthcare System and the VA Providence Regional Benefits Office will be on hand.

Family Fair
The Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Burrillville Farmer’s Market and the Jesse Smith Memorial Library, will hold the town’s 30th annual Old Time Family Fun Fair on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pavilion area by 100 Tinkham Lane in Harrisville. The event will feature free live music, kids activities, roving characters, giant lawn games, informational booths, giveaways, raffles, food trucks and more.
