Summer solstice
The Southern New England Witch Dancers will be celebrating the Summer Solstice on Wednesday, June 21 in the Century 21 parking lot at 1760 Putnam Pike. Parking is allowed across the street in the Post Office/Dollar store parking lot, as well as on street. The short performance, starting at 7:30 p.m. will mark the longest day of the year.
Improv
A new group for those who hope to learn improv comedy, dubbed “Where’s Chepachet Anyways?” will hold its first meeting on Friday, June 23 in the library community room from 6 to 7 p.m. Those who hope to learn more or join the group should message Richard Hartmann.
Family Fun Day
The Glocester Business Association’s second annual Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday, July 25 at Mulberry Vineyards at 95 Pound Road from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will include kids activities such as a bounce house/water slide, hands on crafts, temporary tattoos and pony rides, as well as fun for adults including food, wine and beer for purchase and yard games. They will also be collecting donations to benefit the Glocester Animal Shelter.
50th race
The Glocester Road Race celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, with plans to once again draw in a large field of recreational runners to the iconic 5.5-mile winding course through historic Chepachet village. The race will take place on Tuesday, July 4, with registration at Chepachet Union Church starting at 8 a.m.
The cost to register is $5 for Glocester residents and free for Glocester children, or $10 for non-residents. Learn more and register here.

Town meetings
The Glocester School Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.
The Glocester Zoning Board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, June 22 has been cancelled.
