The North Smithfield Public Library children’s department is seeking feedback on the programing offered over this past year. Parents and caregivers who have visited the library or taken part in special events and offerings are asked to fill out the survey here.
Summer music
North Smithfield Parks & Recreation’s free summer concert series continues this week with a performance by Cee Cee and the Riders scheduled for Thursday, August 10. Concerts take place at the gazebo at Town Hall at 83 Greene St. starting at 6 p.m. and typically include food trucks on site. The events are postponed in the case of inclement weather, with information published on the department’s Facebook page.
Heritage walk
The North Smithfield Heritage Association will hold a heritage walk on Saturday, August 12, covering the Nipsachuck legacy. Participants will visit The Blunders, Nipsachuck National Battlefield & Black Plain Hill Stone Landscape, Three Dog Site and NS57.
To join the group, meet at the North Smithfield Middle School parking lot on Providence Pike at 9:30 a.m.

At Lindy’s Tavern on School Street this week, it’s Kelly and the Poor Boys in the Plastic Palace on Friday and Twisted Mistress on Saturday, with both bands set to start at 8 p.m. Sundays the venue hosts a weekly open mic starting at 3 p.m.
The Beef Barn Restaurant hosts weekly car shows Tuesday nights from 4-8 p.m., weather permitting, at the restaurant’s back fields. Yoga takes place Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. at a cost of $10.
