Members of the Burrillville Sunshine Club met last week to put together crafts to deliver to Burrillville nursing and rehabilitation patients.

Between the Cracks moves base

Between the Crack, a Burrillville organization that helps families in need that don’t qualify for government assistance , has announced that the group’s base will be moving from Dev’s Cafe to Toti’s Tavern at 8 Callahan School St. Those who have donations or who need help can reach out to Donna or Terri at Toti’s or call (401) 291-0590.

Full moon walk

Jenza’s Garden at 470 South Main St. will hold a Full Moon Community Labyrinth Walk on Friday, Sept. 29 starting at 6 p.m. Participants are advised to bring a chair and bug spray, as well as a flash light for the trip back to their vehicle. The suggested donation for the event is $10 per person.

Visitors driving cars should park at the first orange cone on the property with SUVs and trucks to pull up after the second orange cone and
head left.

Fall splash

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will host the, “Fountain Square Fall Splash,” on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 4 to 9 p.m. on Pascoag Main Street. The road will be closed for the event, featuring live music, vendors, specials and demonstrations from area businesses, and more.

Sewing Circle

It’s not in Burrillville, but the Burrillville Land Trust will hold an, “old fashioned,” sewing circle on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Farm Fresh
Market at 10 Sims Ave. in Providence from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Sewing Circle is the second part of a Forest to Fashion natural dye workshop sponsored by the Burrillville Land Trust and Sashoonya textiles company. The two day workshop took place during the weekend of September 9 and 10, with the first day at the Edward D. Vock Conservation Area – a property owned by the trust, and the second day at the pavilion in Harrisville.

The third part and grand finale of the workshop is a Fashion Show in which workshop participants get to show off their Forest to Fashion creations — Fashions, clothes and accessories dyed with foraged plants during the initial two day workshop. The fashion show takes place on
Saturday, Oct. 14 at Farm Fresh on Sims Avenue. Both events are free and open to the public.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Redevelopment Agency will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 26 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27 starting at 7 p.m. at Burrillville Town Building, 105 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.

A bonus ‘thing’: Broncopalooza

Visit Burrillville Middle School at on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Burrillville High School Student Council’s Broncopalooza. The free event will feature food, fun and games.
