Autumn Tea, Glow in the dark mini-golf & final food truck assembly: Five things to know in Burrillville this week

Flu clinic

Burrillville Middle School at 2220 Bronco Highway will host a flu clinic on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 7:30 p.m., with vaccines offered to include the flu injectable, FluMist and COVID-19. Online registration is required to guarantee an appointment with limited walk-ins accepted. Register here.

A second clinic will be held on Friday, Nov. 3.

Glow in the dark mini-golf

Jesse Smith Memorial Library will offer glow in the dark Halloween mini-golf on Friday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. outside the library at 100 Tinkham Lane – or move indoors in the case of inclement weather. No registration is required for the all-ages event.

Food trucks

This year’s final Assembly of Food Trucks will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. Vendors with PVD Food Trucks set up on the grounds of the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Avenue, and guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets, and enjoy great food, live entertainment, libations and more. Admission is free.

Autumn Tea

Mapleville Farm at 544 Victory Highway will host Autumn Harvest Tea on Sunday, Oct. 8 with seating at 12:30 p.m. The event will include a luncheon of salads, sandwiches and a pumpkin bisque, a tower of seasonal pastries and desserts, and a selection of fall teas. Seating is limited and tickets must be reserved ahead of time at a cost of $50 here.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, Oct. 2 in the community room at Jesse Smith Memorial Library starting at 7 p.m. The agenda is here.

The Harrisville Fire District Operating Committee will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 3 starting at 7 p.m. at 115 Central St The agenda is here.

Bonus thing: Lunch & Learn registration

Burrillville Aging Stronger will host a special Halloween Lunch and Learn event on Wednesday, Oct. 25 for residents age 55 and older at Wright’s Farm Restaurant. The event will include a free chicken dinner and vendors with costumes encouraged. Guests must register by Tuesday, Oct. 17 by calling (401) 710-7800 ext. 705 or emailing [email protected].
