GLOCESTER – A lieutenant with the Glocester Police Department was recognized this month by the United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island for outstanding contributions to public safety.
Lt. Jeffrey Jenison was honored for his investigation and prosecution of significant federal cases, according to a note on the award by the GPD.
“Lt. Jenison was a part of a multi-jurisdictional case which led to the arrest of Chinese nationals involving large scale drug bust,” the department noted.
Jenison, who has worked for the department since 2004, is a Task Force officer for the Drug Enforcement Agency. As a patrolman in 2016, he was recognized for his quick action in saving a driver from a sinking vehicle. Jenison was first promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2019, and later lieutenant. He also serves as the department’s public records officer and as a member of the Glocester Addiction Assistance Program.
A North Kingstown resident, Jenison was recognized at an award ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 16 with the Department of Justice United States Attorney’s Office.
“Congratulations, Lt. Jenison,” noted the department. “Thank you for all of your hard work.”
