President’s Day

Town Hall and North Smithfield Public Library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 19 in celebration of President’s Day. Trash and recycling pickup will not be affected by the holiday, and collection will follow the normal schedule this week.

Clean up

Volunteers will once again meet to continue the cleanup of Mammoth Mills Park at 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Feb. 19. North Smithfield Heritage Association President Richard Keene noted that each event exposes more of the historic mill site, and that the group hopes to complete the project by the spring. All are asked to join in the clean up if they can spare a few minutes. Questions can be directed to Keene at (401) 447-6394.

School vacation fun

North Smithfield Public Library at 20 Main St. is offering activities to keep the kids busy during school vacation week including crafting and painting events, a marble run and a domino run. See a full schedule and register here. The library also has museum passes and backpack programs to help keep the kids occupied.
