Voter deadline
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary is Sunday, March 3. In Glocester, voter registration forms can be dropped off and, if needed, blank voter registration forms will be available on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 at the Glocester Police Station at 162 Chopmist Hill Road. Residents may also register to vote online at https://vote.sos.ri.gov/.
The primary will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at the Glocester Senior Center at 1210 Putnam Pike from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Bingo
Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host Bingo on Friday, March 1 with doors at 5 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m. Visitors can purchase a ten pack of six cards for $10, and food and drinks will be available. Per state law, no one under age 18 is permitted in the building during games.
FEMA assistance deadline
The Glocester Emergency Management Agency has announced that Glocester residents who received flooding or wind damage from the storms in September 10-13 that is not covered by insurance can register for assistance from FEMA online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ or go to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at 1291 Hartford Ave. in Johnston. Registration ends the first week of March.
Those with damage from the December or January storms can also register with FEMA at the Johnston DRC to prepare in the event that FEMA issues a disaster declaration for those storms.
Food fights
