BURRILLVILLE – I’m sure many of you reading this article right now are well aware of the recent incident in the city of West Warwick, involving a driver colliding with three young boys crossing a street on their way home from school this past week.
All three young boys were rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital by ambulances with two of the boys suffering serious injuries and admitted to the ER for emergency care. Watching the video on News Channel 12 and Fox News Providence, I noticed only one of the boys hopping off of his bike and walking it across the crosswalk. The other two boys rode their bikes. Unfortunately, none of the three young boys were wearing safety helmets to help protect their heads. Hopefully, the three boys will fully recover without any lifelong injuries or physical and emotional issues as they eventually recover and get older.
This type of incident can happen again at any time and any place to a child. It can directly impact little kids associated with these three boys in their school as well. It doesn’t just affect them and their families. It plays a significant role in everyone’s lives. It’s very important that articles such as this one are shared and sent to as many online platforms and social networks to help heighten awareness as well being used as a creative vehicle to try and keep children safer in their daily lives.
Even more important to consider is distributing these informative child safety coloring cartoons to kids in grade schools, libraries, daycares, community centers and anywhere frequented by little kids and young children. Feature them on websites. Pass them out at community events. Drop them off at local pizza parlors and retailers in your area to try and reach as many kids as possible about their safety. These child safety coloring cartoons are educational and are also fun for kids. It takes real effort and caring to inform children about their safety, and we all know that the availability of materials like this is rare and hard to find anywhere.
Family safety is essential in any city, town and community reminding everyone, especially little kids, about injury prevention in order to help keep them safer and potentially save lives. I was a Shriner’s Kid myself growing up and I witnessed the horrors, fears and pains of seeing little kids that had to endure corrective surgeries caused by vehicle crashes, burns, falls, head injuries and many other preventable injuries. I lived it myself. I was one of those kids. Please share this Seasons Of Safety bike safety coloring cartoon and feature article in an effort to help keep kids and families safer everywhere.
Thank you for your support and caring.
