Groundbreaking ceremony
A groundbreaking ceremony for a new handicap viewing plaza at the Burrillville High School artificial turf field will be held on Monday, April 1 starting at 11 a.m. at the school at 425 East Ave. The event will feature a brief speaking program with local and state officials.

Primary
The town of Burrillville will have three polling locations open for the Presidential Preference Primary taking place on Tuesday, April 2, with voting at the Beckwith Bruckshaw Lodge, as well as the high school and middle school, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can check their registration and polling location by calling (401) 568-4300 ext. 180 or by visiting the Secretary of State’s website here.
Merger voting
Customers will get their chance to weigh in on the proposed merger of the Pascoag Utility District and the Harrisville Fire District’s Water Department this week, with voting at the PUD office at 253 Pascoag Main St. on Wednesday, April 3 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a special meeting starting at 6 p.m. HFD’s special meeting on the proposed merger will be held Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. at 201 Callahan School St.

Free martial arts
Boy Scout Troop 102 Burrillville will host a free one-time introductory martial arts class on Wednesday, April 3 starting at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 88 building at 111 Chapel St. The event is open to all kids ages 10 and up.
Trees
The Burrillville Conservation Commission will present Rhode Island Champion Trees and More on Thursday, April 4, a free event starting at 6:30 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library at 100 Tinkham Lane. The public is invited to the event, featuring John Campanini, technical advisor for the RI Tree Council.
Cemetery cleaning
The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society is hosting a cleanup of Riverside Cemetery in Harrisville on Saturday, April 6, starting at 8 a.m. A second cleanup of the Hopkins/Potter/Marsh Cemetery in Pascoag will be held on Saturday, April 13, starting at 8 a.m.

Spring Vendor Fair
Mapleville Farms at 544 Victory Highway will host a Spring Vendor Fair on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local crafters, artisans and woodworkers will be featured in the business’s greenhouse.
Audition workshop
The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will hold an audition workshop on Saturday, April 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Learn what to expect at auditions, what material you should prepare, and how to navigate the audition process. Directors in attendance will explain what they look for and how to make a good impression. All ages are welcome and encouraged to bring a one minute song or monolog for feedback.
Spring Dinner/Dance
St. Patrick’s Church at 45 Harrisville Main St. will hold its annual Spring Dinner Dance on Saturday, April 6, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., a chicken dinner at 6 p.m., entertainment by The Live Music Band starting at 7 p.m. and a cash bar. Tickets are $25 each or $45 per couple and can be purchased by calling (401) 568-5600.
Town meetings
The Burrillville Board of Canvassers will hold a meeting on Monday, April 1 starting at 3:30 p.m. in the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St. for an agenda found here. The board will be in session for voting on Tuesday, April 2 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will meet again on Wednesday, April 3 starting at 9 a.m. at the town building for the agenda here.
