NORTH SMITHFIELD – Two adults were taken to Landmark Medical Center and one driver was arrested following an accident on Route 146 Monday night.
Rhode Island State Police were reportedly called to the highway by Route 146A around 9 p.m. on Monday, April 1 to find a trailer blocking the highway. According to reports, a pickup truck towing the large trailer collided with a sedan, which led to the pickup truck and trailer jackknifing.
The northbound lane of the highway was closed at Exit 10 North to Park Square for more than an hour and traffic was diverted to Sayles Hill Road while the truck was removed.
Police said the driver of the sedan was arrested for obstruction and license-related charges, while two adults were transported to Landmark for complaints of pain.
The northbound side has since reopened.
Why haven’t any names been released at the very least for the person who was arrested?
