Blood drive

The Knights of Columbus Council 383 will hold a blood drive at St. Patrick’s Church Catholic Church at 45 Harrisville Main St. on Thursday, June 6, from 1 to 7 p.m. Book an appointment to donate by visiting ribc.org/drives using sponsor code 0675. Walk in donations will also be accepted as space permits. All donors will receive a $5 Dunkin Donuts gift card.

Open Garden

Jenza’s Garden at 470 South Main St. in Pascoag will hold an “open garden,” on Thursday, June 6 from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to volunteer at the garden or just visit and learn. Volunteers will leave with plants including mugwort, comfrey and neetles, with discussions on how to make oils, wreaths and teas.

Beauty and the Beast

The Rhode Island Stage Ensemble will present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, with shows starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $27 or $23 for students, seniors and military members and can be purchased here.

Fishing Derby

Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club at 200 Brook Road will host its annual fishing derby on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public with poles, worms and assistance provided, along with free food and raffles with prizes for participants.

Saturday’s event is open to children with disabilities and Sunday’s is open to all children under age 16. For questions contact [email protected].

Pints for Vets

The 5th annual Pints for Vets event will take place on Saturday, June 8 starting at 1 p.m. at Bravo Brewing Company at 75 Pascoag Main St. Guests are invited to enjoy cold beer, food, raffle items, a 50/50, music and more while raising funds for the cause.

Spring dinner

St. Joseph’s Church at 183 Sayles Ave. in Pascoag will host its annual Spring Dinner on Saturday, June 8 following the 4 p.m. Mass in the church hall. Tickets cost $15 for adults or $12 for children age 5-12 for a family-style spaghetti and meatball dinner, non-alcoholic beverages and ice cream. The event will also feature raffles.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Planning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, June 3 starting at 7 p.m. in the community room of Jesse Smith Memorial Library. The agenda is here.

The Burrillville Affordable Housing Board will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 6 starting at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex at 144 Harrisville Main St. The agenda is here.
