New trash program

The town’s new trash hauler, Waste Management, begins service in town on Monday, July 1, and the new trash carts delivered last week should be placed curbside on residents’ regular trash day. Next week will be the first pickup in the bi-weekly recycling collection, and Waste Management will also pickup old and unwanted trash and recycling bins.

Questions can be directed to Recycling Coordinator Vanny Mae at (401) 767-2200 ext. 348.

Paving

T. Miozzi will begin milling the asphalt on Woonsocket Hill Road on Monday, July 1, from the power lines to Providence Pike, as well as George Lee Road. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and should take a few days to complete. The town is asking residents to remove all cars from the roadways, and notes that there will be limited access to the area during the work.

Questions can be directed to the Highway Division at (401) 767-2200 ext. 348.

Town Hall will be closed for Independence Day on Thursday, July 4, and trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
