Christmas in July
Bravo Brewing Company, The Sticks Pizza and Elayna’s will hold Christmas in July on Thursday, July 25 from 5 to 9 p.m., a holiday inspired celebration with Christmas themed food and drinks. There will be a photo booth set up, Christmas-themed crafts and more, and visitors are invited to wear creative, summery/Christmasy attire and hang out on Pascoag Main Street.
Blood Drive
Wright’s Farm Restaurant will hold a blood drive on Friday, July 26 from 1 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the restaurant at 84 Inman Road. All presenting donors will receive a $20 voucher toward their meal at the restaurant, which doesn’t need to be used on the same day. Donors can sign up and reserve a spot at ribc.org/drives and use code #1929.
Friday fun
Family Fun Friday at Spring Lake Beach continues this week with a Halloween party theme for the event on Friday, July 26. The events, at the beach at 50 Old Hillside Drive, start at 5:30 p.m. and include games, crafts, prizes and fun for everyone. The water remains open late on the select nights and all activities are included with regular beach admission.
Mystery show
The Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. will hold a 24 Hour Mystery Show this weekend. Actors auditioned last week with no information on the productions and will begin learning their roles for the first time on Friday, July 26. In just 24 hours, crew at the theater will design lighting, fit costumes and learn lines prior to showtime at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.
Organizers at the theater released just a few hints this week noting that the production is a play, not a musical; it is public domain; the source is very well known; and it is not Shakespeare.
Tickets cost $15 and will be available at the door, with the show to start at 7 p.m.
Townsmen dinner
The Townsmen Club in Mapleville will host dinner and live music on Saturday, July 27, with doors to the club to open at 2 p.m. There will be a cash bar with a chicken dinner served at 4 p.m. and music by the Dirty Old Men starting at 6 p.m. Outdoor seating is limited so guests are advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at 16 S. Main St.
Free concert
A new act will join the Riverwalk Times Concert series this week, with Kick the Keg to perform on Saturday, July 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill pavilion on Tinkham Lane. The Massachusetts-based band plays classic rock, rock, country, blues, pop, alternative and hits from the 60s through today. The Sticks Pizza Co. will also be on site.
Assembly of Food Trucks
PVD Food Trucks return to the grounds of the Assembly Theatre at 26 East Ave. this Sunday, July 28 for the Assembly of Food Trucks for 4:30 to 08:30 p.m. Enjoy a dozen or more food trucks at the event from a rotation of more than 65. There will also be live music, and Trinity Brewhouse will be serving up will be serving up local beer and wine.
Town meetings
The Pascoag Utility District Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting on Monday, July 22 starting at 2 p.m. in the district office at 253 Pascoag Main St. The agenda is here.
