Welcome to The Weekend, northern Rhode Island, your weekly guide to local happenings, all in our three-town radius of Burrillville, North Smithfield and Glocester.

This week, you can hit the beach Friday evening for another Family Fun Friday, do some yoga, catch a car show, paint a pony, get crafty or check out dozens of live music acts.

Friday, July 26 

Blood Drive, Wright’s Farm Restaurant, 84 Inman Road (parking lot), Burrillville, 1-8 p.m. All presenting donors will receive a $20 voucher toward their meal at the restaurant, which doesn’t need to be used on the same day. Donors can sign up and reserve a spot at ribc.org/drives and use code #1929.

Paint a Pony, The Rusty Buckle Petting Zoo, 138 Tourtellot Hill Road, Chepachet, 4-6:30 p.m. Paint, brush and braid manes and tails, and after the crew will help with giving ponies a bath. $20/participant, message to reserve. Petting zoo open as well $5 

Family Fun Friday, Spring Lake Beach, 50 Old Hillside Drive, Burrillville, 5:30 p.m. Games, crafts, prizes and fun for everyone. Water remains open late and theme this week is “Halloween Party.” All activities are included with regular beach admission.

Kids and teens are encouraged to wear their spidey-inspired best for a costume contest with prizes. Proceeds from the event will support the church’s youth trip to Columbus, Ohio this summer.
