Smithfield taxes?

The 2024 North Smithfield tax bills were mailed out last week, but many of the envelopes showed a return address to the town of Smithfield. Town officials noted this week that it was an error made by the printing company and that both towns are aware of the mistake.

The town is assuring residents the 2024 North Smithfield tax bills are correct, and that taxes should be paid to the town of North Smithfield, with payments sent to the PO Box at the top of the bill. Those sending payment to the PO Box, will also need to submit the corresponding quarterly stub. Only payments with a stub should be mailed to the Boston lockbox.

Alternatively, bills can be mailed directly to Town Hall at: Town of North Smithfield, 83 Greene St. North Smithfield, RI  02896. The 1st quarter payment is due by Thursday, August 15.

Questions can be directed to the Assessor’s office at (401) 767-2200 x323 or the Tax Collector’s office at (401) 767-2200 x511.
