KILLINGLY, Conn. – Police investigating a report of a stolen dirt bike arrested two men on warrants in Killingly, Conn. including a Chepachet man found sleeping under the porch of the home where the property was located.

Andrew Lowell, 33, of Chepachet was arrested on six outstanding failure to appear warrants during the incident on Wednesday, July 24.

According to police, the owner of the stolen bike had a tracking device on the vehicle, which showed it was located in the vicinity of Knox Avenue in Danielson. Officers patrolling the area saw a dirt bike in plain view parked in a driveway of a home and made contact with the owner, who was identified as John Lane, 52, of Killingly. It was one of two stolen dirt bikes located on Lane’s property.

During the investigation, officers learned that Lane also had an active arrest warrant out of Foster. He was also charged for possession of stolen property.

A trooper on scene reportedly spotted another man seated in a chair underneath the porch of the Knox Avenue residence. The trooper recognized Lowell from several previous interactions and approached to find him asleep. Lowell was roused and arrested without incident.

Lowell was transported to Troop D and processed on six counts of 2nd degree failure to appear. He was issued a cumulative $90,000 bond –$15,000 for each warrant – and was scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court.
