School supply drive
Oakleaf Family Campground is celebrating Christmas in July by collecting food, toiletries, detergents and school supplies for four families in the area through the end of the month. The families have a total of seven kids and eight adults. Anyone who like to donate is asked to call Kim at (401) 568-4446 to learn specifics needed.
Free concert
The Glocester Recreation Department’s free summer concert series continues this week, with All About Amy to play at the Kent Field Pavilion at 1111 Putnam Pike on Wednesday, July 31. Guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets, and enjoy the free concert starting at 6:30 p.m.
Tax sale
The town of Glocester will hold a tax sale on Thursday, August 1, with liens for around 20 properties up for grabs. The auction will take place at the Kent Field Pavilion at 1111 Putnam Pike starting at 10 a.m.

Building debate
The Glocester Town Council has been soliciting resident feedback on what to do with a blighted – but historic – structure located on a town-owned property at 1272 Putnam Pike, and plans to consider the options at a meeting this week.
Anyone with an idea or a recommendation for the council regarding the future of the structure can email the town clerk at [email protected], or attend the meeting, to be held at Town Hall on Thursday, August 1 where the ideas will be discussed.

Bingo
The Chepachet Grange at 28 Chopmist Hill Road will host Bingo on Friday, August 2, with doors to open at 5 p.m. and games to start at 6 p.m. There will be food available, along with a ten pack of six cards for $10. No one under 18 will be permitted in the building.
