Food trucks & networking
Good Working at 585 Smithfield Road will host a business networking event on Wednesday, August 7 from 5 to 8 p.m., to coincide with the food truck events taking place just across the road from the shared workspace business. Guests are to connect with local professionals while relaxing in an outdoor setting with food, drinks and live music.
Concert
The North Smithfield Parks & Recreation Department’s free summer concert series continues this week with a performance by the Jesse Liam Band on Thursday, August 8 from 6-8 p.m. The concerts take place in the field by Town Hall at 83 Green St. and visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Refuge hike
Cub Scout Pack Slatersville will hike the Fort Nature Refuge at 1443 Providence Pike on Saturday, August 10 starting at 9 a.m. The hike is open to all children entering grades K-5 and their families who are invited to learn more about what scouting has to offer. The rain date for the event is Sunday, August 11.
Summer nights
Wright’s Dairy Farm at 200 Woonsocket Hill Road will host “Pizza, Scoops & Summer Nights,” on fours Saturdays: August 10, 17, 24 & 31 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The events will feature the farm’s ice cream, along with live music and made-to-order pizza.
Digital photography
North Smithfield Library at 20 Main St. will host Digital Photography 2 on Mondays August 19 and 26, and September 9, 16 and 23 starting at 5:30 p.m., a five week program presented by Steve McGrath Photography. The class is for those comfortable with digital camera basics and participants should bring their camera. Register here.
