We’ve gathered up a list of special events and activities – all in our three town radius – with the mission of helping you to keep it local.

Food drive, Town Common gazebo at 135 Harrisville Main St., Harrisville, 9 a.m.-noon. To benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program and the Burrillville Animal Shelter, volunteers will be collecting supplies and non-perishable food items including canned meats and soups; kids snacks and juice boxes; canned kitten food and litter; Dawn dish soap; paper towels and bleach; and Purina Pro Plan or Purina One dry dog food.

S.T.O.P. Alcohol Certification, Dev’s Tavern, 341 Chapel St., Harrisville, 9 a.m. Frank Faubert will offer certification for anyone who requires new or renewed. Cost is $40 paid to Faubert.

Open House, Halliwell Community Garden, 358 Victory Highway, North Smithfield, 9:30 a.m.-noon. The public is invited to tour the garden and learn how it is organized. Volunteers will be on hand to provide information on gardening methods and varieties that are grown.
Burrillville Farmer’s Market, Stillwater Mill Pavilion, 75 Tinkham Lane, Harrisville, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Local vendors and farmers offering fresh produce, local meats, honey, farm-fresh goods, goat’s milk soaps, plants, handmade items, and more.
Bubble Bulooza for kids, Jesse Smith Memorial Library, 100 Tinkham Lane, Harrisville, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. On the Riverwalk, no registration required. For kids entering grade 5 and younger with their families, play with bubble machine and wands
Boy Scout Troop 1 Pascoag & Cub Scout Pack 1 Motorcycle Run. Ride begins at Cady’s Tavern, 2168 Putnam Pike, Chepachet with check in from 10-10:30 and kickstands up at 11 a.m., ends with dinner at Hill’s Tavern. Knitting Circle, The Hen House, 1189 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, 10 a.m.-noon Every Saturday. Bring in any project – knit, crochet, or other needlework – you are working on. The group also enjoys doing yarn swaps, needle/hook swaps and book/pattern swaps.
O’Leary land dedication, 265 Croff Road, Pascoag, 1-2:30 p.m. The Burrillville Land Trust will host a celebration and dedication of the agricultural and conservation land for Ernie and Norma O’Leary. No registration is needed with a brief speakers program, a meet and greet with the O’Leary family, and cold lemonade. Visitors should wear study shoes for a leisurely walk in a wooded area. The trust will reveal donors’ names and read poetry near site of poet E. Merrill Root’s cabin.
Fundraiser for Tracy Randall, Cady’s Tavern, 2168 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, 1 p.m. Tickets $25. Rotisserie roast beef meal, music by Ron Jones. Burnt Out Band, 8 p.m.
Red Neck Regatta, The Island, 1600 Victory Highway, North Smithfield, 1 p.m. Steve Walason, 5 p.m.
Drop in class – Back-to-School pencil cases, The Art of You, 73 Eddie Dowling Highway, North Smithfield, 1-2:30 p.m. Fee is $10 per child and $15 per adult.
Chicken BBQ, Chepachet Fire Department, 1170 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20 or $10 for children under 10 – available at the door as space permits.
Summer Nights, Wright’s Dairy Farm, 200 Woonsocket Hill Road, North Smithfield, 4:30 to 7 p.m. To feature the farm’s ice cream, along with live music and made-to-order pizza.

Yoga at the Vineyard, Mulberry Vineyards, 95 Pound Road, Glocester, 9:30 a.m.
Fundraiser for the Parker Family, Hill’s Tavern, 417 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, 3-6 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and include a pasta dinner and Who Shot JR. The event will also include raffles, a silent auction, volleyball and cornhole, with all proceeds to help with expenses and services for the late Tyler Parker. Roadhouse Blues, Cady’s Tavern, 2168 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, 3 p.m.
The Assembly of Food Trucks, Assembly Theatre, 26 East Ave., Harrisville, 4:30 to 08:30 p.m. PVD Food Trucks return to the grounds with a dozen or more food trucks at the event from a rotation of more than 65. There will also be live music, and Trinity Brewhouse will be serving up will be serving up local beer and wine.
