BURRILLVILLE – Paul Roselli has announced his candidacy for Rhode Island House District 47, pointing to his record of important advocacy working to protect the natural environment.
Roselli, a Democrat, has been resident of Burrillville since 1983. He joined the Burrillville Land Trust, a private, all-volunteer non-profit organization, in 2004, and notes he was instrumental in defeating the Invenergy fracked gas power plant proposed for a forest of the northwest corner of Rhode Island.
As president of the land trust, Roselli notes he has focused on saving as much land as possible. The group has acquired hundreds of acres for conservation during course of his tenure.
In 2022, Roselli won the Peter Merritt Conservation Award, an honor recognizing outstanding achievement in conservation. He is also the longest serving member on the Rhode Island Land Trust Council board.
District 47 encompasses sections of both Burrillville and Glocester.
