Joseph A. Rossi, 20 years old of North Smithfield RI, passed away on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Landmark Medical Center. He was the son of Anthony L. Rossi Jr. and Tonya (DiBattista) Rossi. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on September 25th, 2003, he was a 2022 graduate of North Smithfield High School. He was an Apprentice Electrician for the I.B.E.W. LU99.
In his youth, he was a Cub Scout and a Jr. member of the Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club.
No matter the day, Joe brought a smile with him. He had many friends and liked gaming online with a computer he built from scratch. He was a self taught guitar player. He had a passion for cars and trucks alike. He loved his job, golfing, working out at the gym, hanging out with his friends and his girlfriend Lily. In high school he enjoyed running track, long jump, triple jump and pole vaulting, in which he won many awards. After graduation he became a Track Coach. He framed houses for a while before he became a Union Electrician.
Joe also had a deep love for all animals, especially his cats Kadie and Jethro. He was respectful, kind, sincere, very dependable and always willing to help. He left a warm glow on everyone he met. He was the life of the party and will be deeplly missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a heart like no other.
He is survived by his brother Anthony L Rossi lll, and was the godson of Danny DiBattista and Dawn DiBattista; the nephew of Toniann (Rossi) Absi and Don Werner, and Gregory and Annmarie (Rossi) Sion; and the grandson of Anthony L (“Moo-Moo”) Rossi Sr. and Mary (Heroux) Rossi, and Arnold DiBattista and Muriel (Villiard) DiBattista.
He is also survived by his step mom Colleen (Dunn) Kasegian and his step brother and sister, Matthew and Lauren Kasegian.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 4pm to 8pm Keefe Furneral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 31st at 11:00am, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street Slatersville, RI 02876. Interment immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to Hasbro Children’s Hospital or RISPCA.
