LINCOLN – Two North Smithfield women were picked up by Rhode Island State Police over two consecutive days this week, in separate incidents resulting in charges.

The first took place on Sunday, August 25 around 2:33 p.m., when troopers detained Jennifer Hedquist, 36, following a traffic stop on Mineral Spring Avenue. Hedquist reportedly had a warrant with the Providence Police Department on a charge of Domestic Disorderly Conduct. She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and handed over to Providence Police.

On Monday, August 26 at 9:31 a.m., troopers from the Scituate Barracks apprehended Sandra Tetreault, 58, on charges of issuing fraudulent checks exceeding $1,500. The arrest reportedly followed an investigation and subsequent check at her North Smithfield home.

Tetreault was processed at state police headquarters and arraigned in Third District Court, where she was released on her own recognizance with a future court date.
